Details of the planned Chemistry Workshops
- These chemistry workshops are targeted at students in the 8th and 9th grade.
- Only schools can register and send their students for this workshop. Individual students who are interested will have separate slots allotted to them (please refer to our schedule on our website).
- Each school can send a maximum of 30 students (in one batch) to attend the workshop.
- Medium of instruction will be English.
- The workshops will be held on Saturday mornings between 8 am and 12.30 pm.
- There will be 20 such workshops that will be held between June and December 2011. (For full details of the schedule and dates, please visit our website: www.excitingscience.org/IYC2011

- Each school can send a maximum of 30 students (in one batch) to attend the workshop.
- 60 students from 2 different schools will attend each workshop.
- The student will get to do the following during the workshop:
- Attend a 45 min talk by NCL/IISER scientists on chemistry/materials in our daily lives, along with videos etc.
- Visit chemistry and materials science laboratories in NCL, and interact with PhD students and scientists of NCL/IISER, and see for themselves how and where chemistry research is conducted
- Conduct various chemistry and materials science based experiments, under the close guidance of scientists and volunteers. Students will get do three sets of experiments working in groups, during the workshop.
