Dr Kumar Vanka

Kumar Vanka did his undergraduate degree at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur and, after spending a decade abroad doing research in computational chemistry (PhD. from the University of Calgary, Post Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Kansas), joined NCL, Pune in January, 2008. He is involved in investigating chemical phenomena by trying to model them on very fast modern day computers using state-of-the-art computer software. You could call it the fun and easy way of doing chemistry: analysing how and why reactions take place, without actually doing a single experiment in the laboratory!
